Given the risks associated with direct ironing, here are some safer and more effective alternatives for removing wrinkles from a polypropylene non-woven tote bag:

- Hang the bag in a well-ventilated area.
- Use a garment steamer or a steam iron held a few inches away from the fabric, directing the steam over the wrinkled areas.

Damp Cloth and Gentle Heat: This method uses a damp cloth as a barrier between the iron and the fabric to create indirect steam.
- Place a thin, damp cotton cloth over the wrinkled area of the bag.
- Use the iron on its lowest heat setting, applying light pressure and moving it constantly.
- Crucially, test this method on a hidden, inconspicuous area first to ensure the fabric can handle the heat and moisture.

Hanging and air drying: This method leverages gravity and humidity to naturally smooth out wrinkles.
- Hang the bag on a hanger in a steamy bathroom or a well-ventilated area.

Wrinkle release spray: These sprays contain fabric softeners and anti-static agents that can help relax fibers and reduce wrinkles without heat.
- Spray lightly on the wrinkled area and gently smooth it with your hands.
